Next Monday, January 10, the students will return to their classes in Belgium.
The competent health authorities have relaxed the measures related to quarantine.
According to the newspaper “Het Nieuwsblad”, in primary education from now on whole classes should be quarantined only after four infections, while until now the classes were closed after two cases. In addition, the quarantine should last five days, instead of the current seven.
With regard to secondary education, the logic that has recently been applied to the rest of society now applies: students who are fully vaccinated should not be quarantined and have a PCR test after high-risk contact. Instead, students who do not meet this requirement must be self-restricted for 7 days.
