Belgium sends soldiers to Cyprus for the repatriation of its nationals from Lebanon

The federal government of Belgium decided today to send soldiers to Cyprus for the repatriation of its nationals from Lebanon, according to the Belgian agency Belga. Fearing a further escalation in the Middle East, following Israel’s invasion of southern Lebanon, Belgium is sending soldiers to Cyprus as a precaution, to be ready. Belgium’s Defense Minister Ludwin Dedodor said that Cyprus, which is close to the war zone, is the ideal place for the removal of Belgian nationals who wish to leave Lebanon.
