The hope that there will be a quick resolution of it case of Fredis Beleris to be able to take the oath and take up his duties expresses the Council of European Municipalities and Regions (CEMR).
“We hope for a speedy resolution so that Mr. Beleris can be sworn in and assume the duties entrusted to him by his constituents” states the Council of European Municipalities and Regions in response to a question regarding the letter sent by the Central Union of Municipalities of Greece.
“While the Council of European Municipalities and Regions recognizes the ongoing investigation by the Albanian authorities of the elected mayor of Himara, Mr. Beleris, we believe that the process will respect the fundamental global principles of the rule of law, human rights, democracy, freedom of expression and transparency” is noted in the same announcement according to the Athens News Agency.
