The star of “Last of Us”, Bella Ramsey opened on the Autism Diagnosis In an interview with British Vogue published on Thursday (21).
“I’ve talked a little about neurodivergency before, but for some reason I never wanted to,” Ramsey said, before deciding to share that “was diagnosed with autism when I was filming Season 1 of The Last of Us.”
According to the publication, Ramsey sought a psychiatric assessment after a team member with an autistic child assumed that she also had autism.
The diagnosis also confirmed a suspicion that “always wondered.” In addition, the actress said she helped her improve her performance.
“I always watched and learned from people. Having to learn more manually how to socialize and interact with the people around me helped me act,” he said.
They added that having a routine and a set of rules also helps, saying, “I have a service hours, and tell me what to wear, how to stand, where to stand and what to eat.”
The general diagnosis, Ramsey said, is “liberating” because “it allows me to walk around the world with more funny about myself about not being able to do the easy everyday tasks that everyone else seems to be able to do.”
“My experience of walking around the world is like an autistic person. There is no reason for people not to know,” he added.
