The hotel’s unique decorations were made by local artisans and around 80% of the furniture and objects were handmade in Mexico itself.

The hotel has more than 700,000 hand-painted Jalisco tiles for the rooms, and carpets and fabrics are made from a material similar to hemp from specific species of agave, a succulent plant common in the country.

The Maroma also has three pools all redesigned with handcrafted volcanic stone tiles in turquoise tones reminiscent of the region’s cenotes.
