Belo Horizonte and Sao Paulo beat lower temperature record in 2025

The cities of São Paulo and Belo Horizonte recorded lower temperature records in 2025 in the early hours of Wednesday (14). The southeastern region of Brazil is affected by a cold air mass of polar origin since last weekend.

In the state capital, the National Institute of Meteorology (Inmet) recorded 14.2 ° C of minimum temperature, at the Mirante de Santana Meteorological Station, in the north of São Paulo. The earlier record of lower temperature by 2025 was 14.4c on April 30.

In the capital of Minas Gerais, Inmet recorded 15.8 ° C of minimum temperature at the Santo Agostinho Meteorological Station. The earlier record of the lowest temperature of the year at this location was 16 ° C on May 4th.

In another point of Belo Horizonte (MG), the Cercadinho Meteorological Station recorded 12.6 ° C. The previous record at this location was 12.8 ° C, on May 4th.

The forecast for the cities of Sao Paulo and Belo Horizonte is that it is colder in the early hours of Thursday (14), and this can mark a new record of lower temperature to 2025.
