Their own production company called “Artists Equity” was launched by Ben Affleck by Matt Damon and Gary Cardinale.
According to Deadline, Cardinale’s investment firm RedBird Capital will provide strategic capital and operational expertise to accelerate the company’s growth.
“Artists Equity was born out of Matt’s and my passion for acting and our shared desire to help creators realize their visionas we have been fortunate to do in our career,” said Affleck who will be the company’s CEO, as reported by the Athens News Agency.
“The entertainment industry is defined by great collaborations—writers, directors, producers, crew, actors—and throughout my career I’ve learned that collaboration is what leads to success. Our goal is to create a creator-centric studio that can optimize the production process with shared participation in the commercial success of projectshe added.
Their first venture will be the true story behind the creation of the iconic Air Jordan brand directed by Affleck and starring Damon. It is expected to be released in 2023.
