The origin of Doctor Strange dates back to July 1963when the sorcerer made his first appearance in the Marvel comic # 110 Strange Tales, created by artist Steve Ditko and screenwriter Stan Lee. After 53 years, the Lord of the Mystical Arts was welcomed among the Avengers of theMarvel Cinematic Universe with the 2016 film and its appearance in some of the following films. Until new Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness which is released today in Italian cinemas.
At the base of this new adventure of the sorcerer / neurosurgeon there is a simple question: what if? What if things had turned out differently? What if Stephen Strange had chosen love over his hero responsibilities? And if he indulged in pride, what kind of person would he become? To answer these doubts we think the Multiverse, which will lead the hero to clash with what he could have become, if he had traveled a different path.
Benedict Cumberbatch takes the form of Stephen Strange, flanked in this new cinematic adventure by Elizabeth Olsen (Wanda), Benedict Wong (Wong), Chiwetel Ejiofor (Mordo), as well as Xochitl Gomez, 16-year-old actress who plays America Chavez. At the helm of this journey into the vortex of the Multiverse is horror-thriller master Sam Raimi (the same director of the first “Spider-Man” trilogy with Tobey Maguire).
