Former Minister of Mines and Energy, Admiral Bento Albuquerque, criticized the fuel price readjustment promoted by Petrobras this Friday (17). The admiral was responsible for appointing the current president of Petrobras, José Mauro Coelho, when he was in government.
“Petrobras is making a lot of mistakes due to lack of sensitivity with the current moment, when the government and Congress are looking to adopt measures to mitigate the impacts of the global energy crisis on our economy,” Albuquerque told CNN .
“Everyone has to do their part, trying to contribute and seek solutions within the possibilities of each institution”, he added, referring to the bill passed by Congress to reduce ICMS on fuels. According to him, it is necessary to wait for the measure to take effect.
Asked if Coelho should resign as suggested by the president of the Chamber, Arthur Lira, Albuquerque replied that “the succession must occur as quickly as possible, but that the company’s governance must be observed”.
Albuquerque was fired from the position in May in the previous price adjustment promoted by Petrobras.
