Some angry investors have not left the exchange office in the Federation Tower of the Moscow City complex for three days now, hoping that payments will occur in the near future. According to clients, security at the Beribit office, threatening with pepper spray, tried to detain and expel several people who were actively trying to get an explanation from platform representatives regarding the timing of unblocking accounts. The siege of the main office began on April 27. And on April 28, the victims gathered near the second Beribit office to talk with management.
“People are standing here and waiting, this has been going on for several days. The money simply disappeared in an instant, although no one warned in advance,” complains one of the clients.
Those gathered near the second Beribit office denied information that several dozen of them had already received 32 million rubles. According to the affected depositors, only a few people were able to receive the funds, and not in full, and it was impossible to get clear explanations from the support staff.
Moscow police say they are conducting an investigation based on the application of five clients of the exchange, based on the results of which a decision will be made on what actions to take and whether to take them at all.
On March 29, searches were carried out in the Moscow office of Beribit that could be related to the search for crypto transactions related to suspects in the terrorist attack on the Crocus City Hall entertainment complex near Moscow on March 22, 2024.
