Four Brazilians are on the list of artists nominated for this year’s edition of the BET Awards, which will take place next Sunday (30), at Peacock Theater in Los Angeles, from 9pm (Brasília time).
The rapper and ex-BBB Karol Conká and fellow rapper BK’ are among those nominated for the Best International Artist award. The duo competes with names like Raye, a British revelation who won six awards at this year’s Brit Awards, and Tyla, winner of the Grammy for African Music.
Brazil also competes with two names in the International New Artist category. Trapper Oruam, son of drug dealer Marcinho dVP, and rapper Duquesa appear among the nominees.
The 24th edition of the event will feature a presentation by Taraji P. Henson, winner of the 2016 Golden Globe for Best Actress for her performance in “Atlanta”. This time, the person leading the nominations for the award that honors the artistic achievements of the black community is rapper Drake, who competes in seven categories. Right after the Canadian comes rapper Nicki Minaj, nominated in six.
