Beta version of WhatsApp allows you to hide your activity for certain contacts

WhatsApp has been testing a new option for some time now that allows you to hide the time of the last visit of the messenger from certain contacts. This feature was first spotted in September and is now in the latest beta version of the app. It can be used by everyone who is a participant in the messenger testing program.

According to WABetaInfo, the beta version of WhatsApp v2.21.23.14 for Android has a new privacy option. To prevent some users from seeing the time of the last visit to the service, it is necessary to select “My contacts, except …” in the privacy settings. The selected contacts will also be unavailable for information “About me” and online status. At the same time, if you enable this parameter for a specific contact, its basic information in the profile also becomes unavailable for viewing.

The new feature is currently only available to a limited circle of beta testers, so some users may not have it. But, since the developers have already begun to deploy it, WhatsApp will soon bring this opportunity to more users. In parallel, the company is testing a new community function in the messenger, a new window interface with user contact information, and much more.
