Beware: a network with a simple name “breaks” Wi-Fi on the iPhone

Security developer Carl Schou, the founder of the Secret Club community, has discovered a new bug in the system software of Apple smartphones that can lead to very unpleasant consequences.

Beware: a network with a simple name

According to Karl Shue on his Twitter page, after he connected to his personal Wi-Fi network named% p% s% s% s% s% n, his iPhone turned off Wi-Fi completely. The setting for activating Wi-Fi after that simply stopped working. Neither rebooting nor changing the network name helped fix the crash. He also attached a video demonstrating this failure.

Later, in the comments to Karl Shu’s note, one of the users said that the failure disappears if you perform a complete reset of the network settings. To do this, go to Settings> General> Reset> Reset Network Settings. However, it is better not to check this on your own experience.
