Beyond the classics: discover ten recent Madonna hits

Madonna comes to Brazil to play the last show of the tour “The Celebration Tour ” on May 4th on the sands of Copacabana Beach, a neighborhood in the south of Rio de Janeiro.

The performance marks the culmination of the American singer's 40-year career, celebrated on the tour, and promises to bring together great hits from all of Madonna's eras.

If there is one thing that remains constant in the trajectory of “Like A Prayer ” It is “Hung Up ” is the ability to dialogue and collaborate with the main names of each era. In the past, Madonna has worked with Lenny Kravitz, David Finsher and Nile Rodgers and, in recent times, the singer has collected feats with names like Justin Timberlake, Nicki Minaj and even Anitta.

1. “4 Minutes”, with Justin Timberlake and Timbaland, from the album “Hard Candy” (2008)

“4 Minutes” is the first single from the album “Hard Candy”, on which Madonna collaborated with giant names in the music world in the 2000s: Pharrell Williams, Justin Timberlake and Timbaland.

Declaredly inspired by her marriage to Guy Ritchie and what Timbarlake presented on the album “Future Sex/Love Sounds”, the album mixes dance pop with modern hip hop elements to give freshness to the dance floor of “Confessions On A Dancefloor”, which was a revival of the disco era.

2. “Give 2 To Me”, from the album “Hard Candy” (2008)

It was with Pharrell Williams that Madonna wrote the second single from “Hard Candy”. In a tribute to herself and her boldness, Madonna created the song to have fun on stage doing shows, with lots of flares and a synth pop feel.

3. “Celebration”, from the album “Celebration” (2009)

Willing to dive into her career, Madonna released the album “Celebration” in 2009, which had the song of the same name as the first single. Breathing the air in which she reigned in the 1980s, she brings a dance pop proposal. The clip even features scenes of Jesus Luz, the Brazilian model she was dating at the time.

4. “Revolver”, with Lil Wayne, from the album “Celebration” (2009)

Willing to take a risk, Madonna went further and even recorded a collaboration with rapper Lil Wayne. “Revolver” was the second single from “Celebration” and was marked by the controversial performance on “The MDNA Tour”, in which the singer appeared with a rifle.

5. “Give Me All Your Luvin””, with Nicki Minaj and MIA, from the album “MDNA” (2012)

Immersed in the pure juice of the 2010s, Madonna took advantage of the wave and was one of the singers to secure collaborations with Nicki Minaj. The first single from the album “MDNA”, which marks the singer's dive into EDM, was also her debut on the Interscope record label.

6. “Girl Gone Wild”, from the album “MDNA” (2012)

Madonna took advantage of her 2012 Super Bowl halftime performance to announce the second single of the “MDNA” era. Collaborating with Benny Benassi, owner of the electronic hit “Satisfaction”, the singer delved deeper into contemporary electropop.

“Rebel Heart” is the confrontation between a more gospel line and the craziest electronic pop, the combination of Alicia Keys’ piano and Diplo’s music.

Following the partnership with Diplo, “Bitch I'm Madonna” is inspired by hits of the time, such as Miley Cyrus and Avicii and features personalities such as Rita Ora, Chris Rock, Miley Cyrus, Beyoncé, Katy Perry and Kanye West in its music video.

This is also Madonna's second collaboration with rapper Nicki Minaj.

9. “Medellín”, with Maluma, from the album “Madame X” (2019)

Already living in Portugal, Madonna recovers the Latin tenor presented at the beginning of her career and bets on a collaboration with Maluma, one of the biggest names in reggaeton, in “Madame X”.

“Medellín” is the first single from the album in which Madonna returns to flirting with social issues and playing with current rhythms, such as trap.

10. “Faz Gostoso”, with Anitta, from the album “Madame X” (2019)

Brazil, the place chosen by Madonna to end the tour celebrating her 40-year career, could not be left out. Within “Madame X”, the singer includes “Faz Gostoso”, a song in which she sang in Portuguese and collaborates with Anitta, a Brazilian exponent in world music.

The song is an altered version of the song of the same name by the Portuguese Blaya, which had a production centered on Rio funk.
