The city of Belo Horizonte (MG) had more rain in 16 days than expected to All April. According to data released by the Civil Defense, the historical average of the 30 days is 82 millimeters.
However, until the morning of Thursday (17), 87.66 millimeters were recorded in the capital. The most affected regions were the Northeast with 111.6 mm, where it rained more than 90% of the expected, and Pampulha, with 108.6 mm. See more details below:

The Civil Defense of Belo Horizonte issued a geological risk alert, valid until Saturday (19). The “moderate” geological risk classification is given when it rains 50mm or more within 48 hours. The strong risk is triggered when it rains 70mm or more within 72 hours the agency recommends that the population be aware of the degree of soil saturation, constructive signs and care for walls of walls, landslides and collapses.
Occurrences
The Minas Gerais Fire Department reported on Wednesday (16) that the rains that hit the metropolitan region of Belo Horizonte resulted in 18 drives related to the climate event. The main occurrences were:
- 14 triggering for tree falls on public roads. Occurrences caused the obstruction and circulation of vehicles and pedestrians;
- A tree fell on a residence. The action of the corporation was necessary to avoid greater structural damage and protect residents of the reached property;
- Two trees fell on vehicles. But no one was injured;
- A drive regarding a flood; Fire Department teams provided support in the flooded area.
