The 11th edition of Bibi Ferreira Award takes place this Wednesday (30), at Teatro Santander, in São Paulo. Considered the most important event in Brazilian theater, the ceremony will be presented by the actor Tiago Abravanel currently on display with “Hairspray” .
Scheduled to start at 8:30 pm, a red carpet will also precede the ceremony. To watch the award, just access the Teatro Santander YouTube channelwhich was also responsible for broadcasting the previous editions.
At the event, in addition to announcing the winners, musical numbers and tributes to celebrities and influential figures in the theater world are performed.
The following stood out among the nominated musical productions: “Beetlejuice – The Musical” — which had its protagonist, Eduardo Sterblitch, nominated for Best Actor —, with 12 nominations; and “Cabaret – Kit Kat Club”, with ten nominations. In prose, “First Hamlet” and “Uncle Vânia” tied for the most nominations, seven each.
Names such as Claudia Raia, Diego Martins, Isabella Drummond and Jarbas Homem de Mello also stand out among the nominees. Check out the full list of nominations.
To be considered for nomination for the award, pieces must have been presented between July 1, 2023 and June 21, 2024 in São Paulo. Musicals must have been performed at least 12 times, and prose theater must have been performed 16 shows for 300 or more spectators.
