US President Joe Biden and his Republican rival Donald Trump agreed yesterday, Wednesday, to hold two televised debates on June 27 and September 10, as part of their race for the White House. “Like you said: anywhere, anytime,” Biden wrote on social media. Trump said Biden is “the worst debater” he has ever faced. “I am Ready and Willing to Telefight with Dishonest Joe at the two proposed times in June and September,” he wrote in a social media post. CNN reported that the first debate will take place in its Atlanta studio without an audience and with reporters Jake Tapper and Dana Bass. Georgia, whose capital is Atlanta, is one of the most ambiguous states. The candidates also accepted an invitation from ABC, which will host a second telecast on September 10. A separate debate of the vice presidential candidates has been proposed for July, after the Republican National Convention.
