Biden and Trump talk golf while answering age question

US President Joe Biden and former President Donald Trump discussed golf on the debate stage CNN this Thursday (27). In response to a question about his age, Trump pointed out his performance in golf, saying he feels in good shape.

“I just won two club championships, not even senior ones. Two regular club championships,” the former chairman said. “To do that, you have to be very clever and be able to hit the ball from far away.”

“He doesn’t do that,” Trump said of Biden. “He can’t hit a ball 50 yards,” the Republican added.

Biden joked that he would be happy to “have competition with him.”

“I told you before I’m happy to play golf. If you carry your own bag. Do you think you could do that?” Biden replied.

“Let’s not act like children,” Trump later said.

Historical debate

The CNN debate between Joe Biden and Donald Trump is the first of the 2024 presidential race, reviving the confrontation between the Democrat and the Republican for the White House.

In a historic event, this is the first time that a sitting president and a former president have debated in the United States.

The debate takes place at the CNN studios in Atlanta, in the state of Georgia.
