Biden and Xi Jinping have an appointment in the USA after 1 year

The President of China, Xi Jinping, arrived on Tuesday (14) in San Francisco, USA, for a meeting with American President Joe Biden, and to participate in the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Leaders’ Meeting.

He was welcomed by California Governor Gavin Newsom, US Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen and other US representatives at San Francisco International Airport.

The China-US summit between Xi and Biden will be the first face-to-face meeting between the two presidents since their meeting in Bali, Indonesia, a year ago. It is also Xi Jinping’s first visit to the US since 2017.

The two presidents will maintain in-depth communication on issues of strategic, comprehensive and fundamental importance in shaping China-US relations and on important issues concerning world peace and development, said Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Mao Ning, on Monday.

China views and conducts its relations with the US in accordance with the three principles of mutual respect, peaceful coexistence and cooperation proposed by Xi Jinping, according to the spokesperson.

San Francisco is the host city for APEC Leaders Week 2023, November 11-17, with the theme “Creating a Resilient and Sustainable Future for All”.
