Biden campaign admits president “didn’t have the best night”

President Joe Biden’s campaign admitted this Friday (28) that the president “didn’t have the best night” during the debate in CNN.

“You’d rather have a bad night than a candidate with a bad outlook,” Biden campaign communications director Michael Tyler told reporters on Air Force One on Friday.

“I think that’s what the American people saw in Donald Trump last night,” he added.

Tyler said the campaign had “no conversations” about Biden dropping out of the race. He said the president is committed to appearing in a second debate with Trump on September 10.

“Democratic voters want Joe Biden,” Tyler said. “Joe Biden is the candidate.”

Tyler added that “our most successful fundraising hour of the entire campaign was yesterday at 11 p.m.” Tyler, however, did not say how much money was raised.

White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre confirmed that Biden had a cold and sore throat on Thursday night.

“He had a bit of a slow start,” said Jean-Pierre.
