Biden: G20 summit shows “how strong America is when it works with its allies

Her meeting G20 in Rome “shows how strong America is when committed” US President says today Joe Biden, in a press conference he gave.

“What we have seen here is the power of America when it commits and works with allies and partners on problems. “Nothing replaces face-to-face negotiations in international co-operation.”

On this occasion, Biden criticized the leaders of Russia and China, who did not attend the summit. “Russia and China simply did not show up” when “climate commitments needed to be made,” he said.

The US president noted that the summit led to “tangible” results for the climate, the economy and the pandemic. “I believe we have made tangible progress, in part thanks to the determination of the United States,” he said in the talks.

Many non-governmental organizations and some political officials commented that the G20 did not propose specific measures to tackle climate change.

Referring to his US infrastructure funding program, Biden expressed hope that the bill would be passed by Congress “by the end of next week.” Among other things, the plan envisions investing $ 550 billion to reduce gas emissions by 50-52% by 2030 compared to 2005 levels.
