The American president Joe Biden called Vladimir Putin’s Russian counterpart a “butcher” and said he was not sure Moscow had changed its strategy in war in Ukraine following Moscow’s statement that it would focus on the full “liberation” of the breakaway region of Donbass.
“I’m not sure they have changed,” Biden told a reporter in Warsaw when asked if Russia had changed its strategy.
Polish President Andrei Duda said today that during a meeting with his US counterpart Joe Biden in Warsaw, he asked him about the possibility of rushing to buy military equipment.
Duda explained that he was referring to the market for Patriot missile systems, HIMARS high-mobility missile systems, F-35 aircraft and Abrams tanks.
Poland wants to work closely with the United States as it plans to start producing nuclear power, the Polish president told Biden.
“I believe that together with American companies, under the strict auspices of the White House, we can implement this program in the near future because it is urgently needed for Poland,” Duda said after meeting with Biden.
Poland needs US nuclear power plants to meet its climate targets and secure a modern source of energy, he said.
