With his eyes on Joe Biden’s candidacy and questions about whether the US president is fit to run for president, Biden will hold an important press conference this Thursday (11), at the end of the NATO summit.
The occasion marks the president’s first solo press conference in nearly eight months. It will also be Biden’s biggest appearance since the CNN on June 27th
The Democrat is trying to contain growing opposition within his own party to his re-election bid.
Biden’s campaign has been in a tough spot for weeks, ever since the 81-year-old president’s poor performance in the CNN against 78-year-old Donald Trump, his Republican rival, has raised new concerns about his age and mental acuity.
A Reuters/Ipsos poll released last week showed Biden and Trump tied in the race at 40 percent each. Other opinion polls have shown Trump widening his lead over Biden.
