The American president Joe Biden stated today that the Israel she has not only the right but also the “responsibility” of self-defense after her bloody attack Hamas, stressing however that he must “do everything to protect civilians”. Biden also delivered a rare rebuke to Israeli settlers in the West Bank, expressing concern about “settler extremists” who are attacking Palestinians in the West Bank, accusing them of adding fuel to the fire and calling for an “immediate stop” to these attacks.
“I continue to be concerned about extremist settlers attacking Palestinians in the West Bank,” adding fuel to the fire. “They are attacking Palestinians in places they (Palestinians) have a right to be.”
The US president also said he “doesn’t trust” Hamas’ account of the victims of the October 17 Gaza hospital explosion.
