Biden on coronavirus: ‘I’m better than I sound’

US President Joe Biden appeared in a White House video conference with his economic advisers to show he is in good shape, a day after testing positive for Covid-19.

Speaking at this gas-price-lowering meeting, Biden appeared brisk and cheerful, but with a noticeably hoarse voice. “I feel a lot better than I sound,” he told his interlocutors, apologizing for intermittent coughing as he described the government’s efforts to lower gasoline prices.

Earlier, a letter from White House physician Kevin O’Connor said Biden developed a fever Thursday night but responded to treatment. The coordinator of the White House for dealing with the pandemic Dr. Asish Jha told CNN that the president is doing well and his mild symptoms are the same as yesterday. According to O’Connor, he has a runny nose, fatigue and an occasional dry cough.
