Biden pays tribute to dead soldiers since Kabul attack

The presidential couple landed early Sunday morning (local time) at Dover Air Base to pay their respects to the dead.

The remains of 13 soldiers in coffins covered with the American flag arrived there. Most of the victims were aged 20-31. That is, some of the victims were born after the 9/11 attacks or were infants when it happened. The troops traveled from the United States to Kabul to help evacuate civilians after the Taliban came to power.

Dover Air Base has received many casualties from Afghanistan over the past 20 years.

The attack near Kabul airport claimed the lives of hundreds of civilians. It is the bloodiest since February ’20, when then-President Donald Trump reached an agreement with the Taliban saying that by May 21, all US forces would have withdrawn.
