Biden-Putin Summit: Accounted for, literally, without the hotelier

US and Russian Presidents Joe Biden will meet for the first time on June 16. Vladimir Putin, as announced by the White House a few days ago.

However, the Intercontinental Hotel in Geneva, where the two leaders are rumored to meet in June – there is no clear indication that the US-Russia Summit at the highest level will take place there – is full for mid-June, according to a Sputnik correspondent.

The Swiss media, however, reported that Intercontinental hotel in Geneva will host the Summit.

The hotel in Geneva that world leaders prefer for their meetings

This is the same hotel where Ronald Reagan as US President had met with Soviet leader Mikhail Gorbachev in 1985, according to AMPE.

The hotel also hosted the first talks between former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and Russian counterpart Sergei Lavrov in 2009.

There have also been talks on Iran and Syria, as well as US-Russian consultations on various issues, mainly on nuclear disarmament.

You are asked to confirm if all rooms are closed for the week of June 11-18 at the hotel an Intercontinental employee declined to comment to Sputnik.

Officially neither side has confirmed the reports on whether this hotel will be the meeting place of the two leaders.

According to the Sputnik correspondent, there are no obvious signs of preparations for a grand session at the hotel.

Another possible venue for the event is the Wilson Hotel which is also full from 11 to 18 June.
