Biden spoke of “progress” in trying to reach an Israel-Hamas agreement – “The trend is positive”

US President Joe Biden assured reporters yesterday Thursday, 11/7 during the press conference he gave after the end of the NATO meeting, that there is “progress” in the indirect negotiations between Israel and Hamas with the aim of ending the war in Gaza Strip. “The US has been working for months to secure a ceasefire in Gaza, to return the hostages to their homes, to pave the way for peace and stability in the Middle East,” he said. “These are difficult, complicated issues. There are still gaps to be bridged. We are making progress. The trend is positive and I am determined to achieve this agreement, to end this war, which must end now,” Mr. Biden added. “To recap, there are many things we wish we could have convinced the Israelis to do,” the US president acknowledged, but “at the end of the day, we have an opportunity now” and “it’s time to end this war,” he insisted.
