US President Joe Biden told Democratic governors during a White House meeting on Wednesday that part of his plan is to stop scheduling events after 8 p.m. so he can get more sleep, according to three sources.
The remarks, first reported by The New York Times, came as Biden, 81, sought to reassure a group of more than 20 state leaders about his ability to defeat former President Donald Trump in November and effectively govern for another four years.
The comment left several governors in the room frustrated, sources told CNN . And it’s one reason why some of the attendees were criticized for the declaration of their loyalty and enthusiasm distributed by the Biden campaign on Thursday (4).
The White House and Biden’s campaign have not yet commented.
