US President Joe Biden has tested positive for coronavirus. The information was confirmed on Thursday (21) by the White House.
Biden will continue to perform office duties and has begun taking the Paxlovid course, press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre said in a statement.
“This morning, President Biden tested positive for Covid-19. He is fully vaccinated and twice boosted and showing very mild symptoms. He started taking Paxlovid. In accordance with Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) guidelines, he will self-isolate at the White House and continue to perform all of his duties during that time,” she said.
This is the first time Biden, 79, has tested positive for the disease. He last tested negative on Tuesday, according to Jean-Pierre.
