Biden: The fate of Alexei Navalny is completely unfair

THE Joe Biden considers “completely unfair” the fate of the imprisoned Russian opposition leader Alexei Navalny, who needs urgent medical attention and is on a hunger strike.

“It’s completely unfair, completely unfair,” Joe Biden told reporters when asked about the condition of Alexei Navalny, who went on a hunger strike on March 31 to protest his detention.

The US president also announced that he would raise the maximum number of refugees admitted to the United States each year to 15,000.

The 15,000 cap was set by Donald Trump’s predecessor. Joe Biden signed a decree yesterday to increase the ceiling until the end of the financial year on September 30. The US president put on the shelf the plan he announced in February to increase the ceiling to 62,500.
