Biden told Bolsonaro he believes in Brazil’s electoral system, says spokesperson

According to the White House advisor, the US president believes that the process will be “free, fair, that will obey and accept the voice of the Brazilian citizen”, which, according to Biden, is extremely important for the US government. “We hope this result is respected and we are confident that this will happen”, she assured.

As reported by Kristina, Biden stressed that the electoral process in place in Brazil has worked. “There were many years of electoral process that yielded results, several presidents of different political positions. We are confident that this process will work in the coming months, in the October election,” said the President of the United States.

“We have the utmost confidence in this system,” Biden emphasized.

Journalist and indigenist disappeared in the Amazon

Through the spokesperson, Joe Biden also commented on the disappearance of the indigenist Bruno Araújo Pereira and the English journalist Dom Phillips, correspondent for the newspaper “The Guardian”, in Vale do Javari, in Amazonas, last Sunday (5).

“We are aware of this situation, it is obviously a very sad situation”, lamented the president, who said he knew that the Brazilian government is investigating the case. “Our weather envoy John Kerry has gone into a little more detail, we hope to hear back soon. The two need to be found and we hope to have some response, some action soon from the Brazilian government”, he concluded.
