Former US House Speaker Nancy Pelosi defended President Joe Biden, although she acknowledged difficulties during the debate in CNN Thursday (27) against Trump.
“From a performance standpoint, it wasn’t great. But from a value standpoint, it far exceeded Trump,” Pelosi said.
The American was asked if she had any concerns about Biden after the debate.
“No, I think on his worst night, his presentation of integrity was better than the other guy’s dishonesty. To see Republicans accept that dishonesty is just astounding. So, no, I have no problem,” he said.
Pelosi acknowledged that Biden started off poorly but improved as the night went on. She said she did not know of any Democrat who had called for Biden to drop out of the race.
The American accused Trump of practicing “revisionist history” with his comments during the debate on the January 6 attack on the US Capitol.
“What idiot could he be? To think I planned my own murder? Does anyone believe he was sending 10,000 troops? He (was) the president of the United States. He could have sent them, but he didn’t. I refused. Therefore, we cannot have this revisionist history about January 6th,” she said.
Panic in the Democratic Party
Joe Biden’s performance was harshly criticized by experts and even members of the Democratic Party.
Some in the group raised discussions about whether he should remain the party’s candidate in November’s US presidential election.
Biden appeared on stage with a weak, hesitant voice.
“Biden looks and sounds terrible. He is incoherent,” said a Democrat who worked in the Biden administration.
According to sources heard by CNN, He is recovering from a cold. He also suffers from reflux.
On the other hand, other sources heard by CNN highlighted that Democratic leaders are not yet planning a direct intervention to pressure Biden to drop out of the electoral race
