Biennial 2025 will have literary park and will honor writer Ruy Castro

THE Book Biennial 2025 is scheduled to happen between June 13 and 22, in Rio de Janeiro with tribute to the writer and journalist Ruy Castro which will release two books at the event. The festival will be organized through a Book Park concept, a type of literary park with more immersive and playful experiences for the public.

This year’s event gained more importance with the choice of Rio as the world capital of the book in 2025 by the United Nations Education, Science and Culture Organization (UNESCO) .

“I started attending the biennial as a child and just a reader. And every time I enter the biennial today I cry out of emotion. I love this idea of ​​Book Park because it brings a sense of fun and entertainment. I argue a lot to take these ideas out of literature as a pedestal, that it is for the few. The Biennial is organized by the company GL Events Exhibitions in partnership with the National Book Editors Union (Snel).

“The Biennial is much more than a festival, it is a celebration of the reading and transformative power of books. And if it is present in the affective memory of the city for decades, this time, visitors will live even more striking experiences,” said Tatiana Zaccaro, director of GL Events Exhibitions.

“If in the last edition we celebrate the 40th anniversary of the country’s largest literary festival, this year we look at the future to show the importance of the book in all its forms,” said Snel President Dante Cid.

Prices for Book Biennial and Access

Tickets can be purchased through the official website of the event for $ 42 (full) and $ 21 (half). Teachers and librarians have free access with the presentation of the professional portfolio. The event will have a ferris wheel and those who want to buy early ticket the amount is $ 20 (full) and $ 10 (half).

The private transportation service will be expanded on routes considered strategic, the organizers reported, so that access to the riocentro is facilitated. Schedules and boarding points are available on the official Biennial website.
