Big Brother 17: Perla Vatiero wins (but would she have triumphed if Mirko Brunetti hadn't been there?)

The Big Brother number 17 won it, yes, Pearl Vatiero but also a little Mirko Brunetti whereas, without him, it's likely the girl wouldn't have gotten very far. Running entry when the program had already begun, Perla Vatiero managed to do hers Big Brother laying the foundations for one of those identifications from which one cannot escape: that of the girl who tries to remain stoic towards her cheating ex-boyfriend only to then give in and fall into his arms again. If Perla Vatiero won it was above all for this: for the love past that the public got to know thanks to Temptation Island and for an attitude that slowly led her to fall back in love with the boy, dragging this dynamic to the limit, squeezing it to the last drop. The result, however, was rewarding: despite a Temptation boasted of never having loaded a washing machine in her life and despite the fact that Alfonso Signorini himself teased her several times about being “real”, Perla made it, and the one who paid the price for it was above all Beatrice Luzzi who, even just for having resisted inside the House of Big Brother for 197 days, he would have deserved the top step of the podium.

It didn't happen probably because, like all strong characters of reality shows, it happens that the audience is divided and nuances are not accepted. On the one hand there were the Luzzers who believed until the end that Beatrice could do it – and we with them -, and on the other there were the objectors who couldn't wait for it to collapse. Regardless of how it went, The Big Brother number 17 will be remembered above all for Beatrice, that is, the contestant that all reality shows would like to have as well as superfine intelligence who miraculously managed to resist all the beatings that the rest of the House inflicted on her. Last but not least, the constant harassment of Massimiliano Varrese towards her, a group of tenants who chose to isolate her so as not to make her feel loved and, above all, a tenant who at a certain point ordered her not to do the victim to general amazement. The undisputed queen of this edition, with all due respect to Vatiero, is undoubtedly her, and this is why we hope that, beyond the second place in the Big Brothercan soon aspire to role as regular commentator in many Mediaset programs that would need his sharp tongue and his intelligence.

For the rest, this Big Brother which gave birth to a grand final that crowned Perla well after two in the morning, even if it were the Sanremo Festival, it didn't stand out for its flashes and virtues. It was supposed to be the edition of you cleaned up great wanted by Pier Silvio Berlusconi after the blasphemies and scandals of previous years but, in the end, it proved frayedincapable of creating the right dynamics other than those guaranteed by Luzzi and, indeed, by the triangle of Temptation Island which should lead the production to dedicate a statue to Filippo Bisciglia. It lasted too long, he couldn't count on a commentator – Cesara Buonamici – particularly on the piece, and not even on a particularly memorable cast, yet Mediaset still managed to have a stable network average is guaranteed for almost seven months of programming. In September we start again, and never like this time will it be necessary to choose the right competitors, even if it would be worth remembering that strong personalities like Beatrice Luzzi keep programs like the Big Brother while almost always handing over the final scepter to someone else, as was (also) in this case.
