We knew something inside the car’s Big Brother VIP it would change, but we didn’t imagine what. From the very first warnings by Pier Silvio Berlusconi, who didn’t mince words to define some excessive, inconvenient and even offensive deviations from the programme, it was clear, in fact, that the reality show would change pace by trying to take cover, an easier undertaking to say what to do when dealing with dozens of vipponi difficult to control. «We look forward to seeing you next year for a completely new edition»the conductor Alfonso Signorini had announced a few moments after the announcement of Nikita Pelizon’s victory, and he was right.
According to what he anticipates Dagospythe next edition of Big Brother VIP will be revolutionized from many points of view, with a gradual return to the very first editions of the reality show. The program, in fact, should last much less – no longer seven months, but maybe three or four – and should welcome back into its ranks of non-VIP competitors, a way like any other to try to recreate the original spirit of the format by keeping away from the starlets in the frantic search for visibility. The idea, however, is not to eliminate the VIPs, but to contact only names worth investing in: the strategy, in short, is to call a few but good VIPs, rather than welcoming anyone as it happened in the last three and a half years.
The other idea – the last – is to limit or, even better, eliminate the double weekly appointment on Canale 5 to be able to let the format rest and not squeeze it more than necessary. We don’t know if these precautions will be able to buffer as much as possible the trash drift that Big Brother Vip has sunk into in recent times, but it is certainly an important starting point. Going back to basics is, in fact, the ultimate test to see if the program still deserves to survive and we, in our small way, hope that everything goes well, especially for the large work group that moves behind the scenes of such a mammoth production.
