Korean company Kia has unveiled a major update for its hybrid crossover, the 2023 Kia Sportage Hybrid, at the Los Angeles Auto Show.

In general, the 2023 Kia Sportage with a new 2.5-liter engine debuted a month ago and is expected to go on sale in the spring of 2022. Now a hybrid version of this model has been presented to the public. It will also be available early in the year. Pricing has not yet been announced.

The hybrid power plant provides a range of up to 805 km on one full tank, a fuel consumption of 6.03 liters per 100 km and a total power of 226 hp. It combines a 1.6-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine with a 44 kW electric motor and a 1.49 kWh lithium-ion battery. A six-speed automatic transmission is used. The crossover is capable of towing 907 kg. According to the manufacturer, this is the best result in its class.
