“Big Little Lies” Actress Lived Out of Carry-On Suitcase for 10 Years in Europe

The American actress Shailene Woodley 32, revealed in an interview with the Choice Words podcast that she lived in Europe for 10 years with just a carry-on suitcase. According to the “Big Little Lies” star, this experience made her change her outlook on life.

“I moved to Europe and for ten years I lived out of a carry-on suitcase. When I wasn’t working, I would meet someone on a train or in a hostel and ask them if they wanted to learn English, and in return they could teach me their language and I would wash their dishes and I just lived with strangers for almost ten years,” she said.

“I think it broadened my view of not just European life or all these other places I’ve lived, but it helped me understand American life,” he concluded.

Woodley did not elaborate on the period she spent in Europe. She began her acting career as a child, appearing in TV series, and gained fame when she starred in “The Secret Life of the American Teenager,” which aired from 2008 to 2013.

In 2014, she had two prominent film roles: “The Fault in Our Stars” and “Divergent” . In 2017, she returned to TV as one of the protagonists of “Big Little Lies“ next to Nicole Kidman and Zoë Kravitz .

This week, she was announced as the interpreter of James Joplin in a biopic, which does not yet have a release date.
