Apparently, the third season of “Big Little Lies ” is not yet fully confirmed. In a press conference this Tuesday (13), Casey Bloys head of HBO and from Max commented on the status of production.
According to him, the development of a new season is still underway, but depends on the availability of source material . The wait, however, is due to the release of the new novel by Liane Moriarty which will continue the channel’s series.
At the beginning of the year, Nicole Kidman stated in an interview that she and her colleague and producer, Reese Witherspoon were talking about a third season. However, since then, there have been no further updates about the series to the press.
In 2023, Nicole had given further indications that new episodes were on the way, when she mentioned the HBO series during a question and answer session at the CME Group Tour Championship, a professional golf tournament. “We are going to give a third (season), for your information”, mentioned the actress in November 2023.
The production premiered in 2017 and is based on the book by writer Liane Moriarty. Just like the aforementioned actresses, Shailene Woodley, Laura Dern and Zoe Kravitz stand out in the cast. The series follows the lives of a group of wealthy parents in Monterey, California, as they deal with a murder that affects the entire community.
