AMD has consistently raised the frequencies of Ryzen processors with the release of each new generation – and it got to the point where Intel CPUs have already ceased to totally dominate in single-core performance tests. This became especially evident after the release of Ryzen 5000. But AMD, judging by the latest data, is ready to take another step.

According to one of the Twitter users (and concurrently the developer of the popular Clock Tuner For Ryzen utility), AMD has planned an interesting announcement on February 15, in which one or more processors based on the Zen 3 architecture with a frequency above 5.0 GHz will be presented. This (or these) CPUs will clearly be part of the Ryzen 5000 series, but no details yet. Perhaps AMD will present them as completely new models that will be half a step higher than the Ryzen 5950X, or some special versions of the CPU are waiting for us. In any case, it will be a serious blow to Intel flagships reaching 5.3 GHz.
