The Yandex team announced the release of a major update to the functionality of the Yandex.Telemost videoconferencing service as part of the Yandex.Mail 360 suite of services.
In fact, Yandex.Telemost is an alternative to the super popular Zoom service, as well as Google Meet and the like. The update brings chats to the service and expands the capabilities of the demo mode. Users can now chat and watch presentations in full screen mode.
In the chat, you can leave questions and comments without disturbing the speaker. Stickers and reactions can help you express your feelings about what your colleagues are saying, and stars can help highlight topics you need to draw attention to. The presenter will see what is happening in the chat and will be able to react. In addition, you can send links and files to the general chat that the participants will need.
After the end of the meeting, the correspondence will not be lost. The chat will be automatically saved in Yandex.Messenger and will be available to the meeting participants. Moreover, the meeting participants will be able to continue chatting. Chats work in the desktop and mobile versions of the service on all platforms.
It has also become more convenient to conduct presentations in Telemost. When a presenter is sharing a screen, viewers can expand the picture to full screen. This opportunity appeared in the web version of “Teleconference”, in applications for Windows and mac OS. In the desktop application, you can also monitor the reaction of the audience: the window with the meeting participants and the chat will be shown to the presenter over the presentation. You can now enable the demonstration on your smartphone – the function has become available in the Android application.
As before, “Teleconference” works without time limits and is suitable even for long performances.
