Rustam Minekaev, deputy commander of the Central Defense District, said Russia was “now at war with the whole world,” according to Bild.
Until now, Russian propaganda has said it was not at war with Ukraine, but with NATO, the same report said, adding that even for General Minekaev, even that does not seem to be enough – it must be the whole world.
Bild reports that the military used World War II as a historical example. He compared the current situation with the “Great Patriotic War”, when “the whole of Europe, the whole world was against us”. The same is true now, he said, as other countries “never liked Russia.”
Minekaev also explained the objectives of the second phase of the Russian war against Ukraine. According to him, the Russian army is going to conquer Donbass and establish “full control over the southern part of Ukraine”.
The second wave of attacks is aimed at creating a “land corridor to Crimea” and weakening “vital objects of the Ukrainian forces”, including the Black Sea ports.
