Nekros is a member of Ukraine’s negotiating team during talks with the Russian side, according to Bild. His name is Denis Kireev (Denis Kireev or Kireyev).
Kireev (44, married, three children) was one of the negotiators of the Ukrainian side, took part in the first round of (failed) talks in the city of Gomel.
There is conflicting information about the circumstances of his death, according to Bild, but it is clear that he was killed.
According to the first information, according to the same publication, he was shot and killed by the Ukrainian domestic intelligence service SBU – while trying to escape arrest. The reason, according to this version, is that Kireev was a Russian agent among the Ukrainians. According to Bild, information was leaked from the negotiations to Putin’s people, which was considered by the Ukrainian side as a “final betrayal”.
This was reported, among others, by the Ukrainian news website “Pravda”, which cited confirmation from government circles.
According to other rumors, he was even a double agent in the service of both countries. Investigative journalist Michael Weiss writes on Twitter that he thinks this is reasonable. And that the SBU killed him as well. A former intelligence chief told him that Kireev had spent “both time” hiding enemy spies and catching them.
Hours later, however, another Ukrainian intelligence service – the GUR military intelligence service – retaliated. According to her, Kireev was one of the three GUR men who lost their lives in a special operation. The military service wrote on its Facebook page that they had offered heroic service in their country and died with honor for defending it, Bild reports.
It is also known to Kireev that he worked in the banking sector and in the private sector and that (according to the news portal “Obozrevatel”) he had already been accused in 2020 of being a spy on suspicion in Russia. He has traveled frequently to Russia and has links to oligarchs working for former President Viktor Yanukovych, who is close to Putin.
The same news portal noticed another strange detail, according to which Kireev was not even named as a negotiator in the official list of the Ukrainian presidential office. But the photos clearly show that he sat at the table in Gomel next to representatives of Kiev, Bild concludes.
