Bill decree, how to pay the right amount (even after March 31st)

The new decree bills reintroduces the system charges on electricity starting from April 1, while confirming the aid and the reduced VAT of 5% on gas at least until June. Keeping the family budget under control will therefore require new precautions, especially in finding the right information. Because there isn’t a single point of contact to turn to in order to avoid personal research on the Internet, with all the uncertainties involved. First of all, what is really the current situation regarding expensive bills and what should we expect in the near future?
«Fortunately we had a particularly hot winter, which made it possible to reduce consumption and therefore to contain prices, far from the inflamed last August, when electricity had reached 700 euros per megawatt hour, against 70 or 80 we were used to. Today, however, we are still more than double those values, despite the aid from the Draghi government first, and then from the Meloni government, which have lightened the burden by mitigating the increases. But now part of these shock absorbers have not been confirmed beyond the March 31 deadline, so the electricity bills will start to increase again from the following day ».

The big fear is that, even when this crisis is over, the cost of bills will never return to previous levels.
“In fact, to free itself from Russian supplies, Europe had to invest heavily in new infrastructures and therefore, yes, I believe that the costs incurred will weigh on future bills, so it will be difficult to return to pre-2019 levels”.

What do you recommend to families, to reduce costs as much as possible?
«Compared to a few months ago, with the falling costs of raw materials, it may be interesting to switch to the fixed price. In any case, it is always advisable to evaluate alternative suppliers: from the analysis of the bills uploaded by users on Billoo, it emerges that in 40% of cases substantial savings can be obtained».

“Exact. It entitles you to various supplementary services of greater complexity. Against 10 euros a year, for example, we deal directly with complaints to obtain reimbursement of undue amounts (we have already obtained a sum equal to 200 thousand euros). Furthermore, it is possible to change supplier quickly and directly from the app, which is constantly evolving. It has currently been downloaded by around 13,000 people, but our goal is to reach a further 20,000 unique users by next fall.”
