Bill Gates said he tested positive for Covid-19.
A champion of the vaccine, the Microsoft founder said on Twitter last Tuesday (10) that he “has mild symptoms” and is “following the advice of experts, isolated until he is healthy again”.
Gates added that he is “lucky” to be fully vaccinated, including a booster shot.
The billionaire also said that the Gates Foundation was “coming together” for the first time in two years and that he would meet them through Microsoft Teams, the company’s virtual meeting platform.
“We will continue to work with partners and do our best to ensure that none of us have to deal with a pandemic again,” he said.
I’ve tested positive for COVID. I’m experiencing mild symptoms and am following the experts’ advice by isolating until I’m healthy again.

Gates often talks about mitigation efforts and how to prevent the next pandemic. He told the anchor CNN international, Becky Anderson, late last year, about her hopes of having the Covid-19 pandemic under control by 2023.
He predicts that with greater availability of vaccines for everyone, the world will not see the “level of disruption that we had during the first three years of the pandemic” next year.
In total, the Gates Foundation has invested at least $1.75 billion in support of the global fight against Covid-19.
Gates’ new book, “How to Prevent the Next Pandemic,” hit shelves last week in the United States.
