Billie Eilish releases “Male Fantasy” video, directed and edited by her

the american singer Billie Eilish released this Monday (6) the video for the song “Male Fantasy”, the track that ends the album “Happier Than Ever”. In the production, directed and edited by the artist, Billie appears in a melancholy and introspective atmosphere, moving with an empty gaze through the various rooms of a house, in an audiovisual narrative that refers to the course of a long, difficult and lonely day.

In the song, the artist sings about the discomfort with the artificial way in which women are portrayed in pornography, which it claims is a male fantasy, but admits to using it as a way to distract himself. Then the lyrics reflect on the assimilation of relationships that have come to an end.

When talking about the song in an interview with “Vice” in September, the 19-year-old singer revealed her difficulty in composing songs that expose her feelings in the present.

“I find it much easier to write about my past and how I used to feel, and find a new perspective on something that happened to me. I usually don’t write about what I’m going through right now because it’s hard to process. It was difficult, satisfying, revealing and also incredibly cathartic,” he said.

Last year, Billie Eilish released clips for five other songs from the album “Happier Than Ever” released in July of this year, including the title track “Your Power” and “Lost Cause”. In November, the artist received seven Grammy nominations – among them, in the categories Record of the Year and Song of the Year, for the song “Happier Than Ever”, and in Album of the Year, for the homonymous album.
