The Binance Charity Foundation, the charitable arm of the Binance Exchange, has teamed up with Women in Tech to provide free blockchain education courses for 2,800 women.
Binance Charity has donated $250,000 for a six-month pilot project to empower women in Brazil and Africa with Web3 knowledge and skills. The project has become part of the global Scholar Program, which aims to provide ongoing educational and professional support to members of the crypto community.
The first courses will be held in Rio de Janeiro and Cape Town. Over the next six months, the program will roll out to Côte d’Ivoire, Nigeria, Senegal, Morocco, Burundi, Kenya and Ghana.
According to Binance Charity Vice President Helen Hai, the common goal of Binance and Women in Tech will be to provide professional training for women in the blockchain industry, which will open them to career opportunities in the technology sector.
“It is important to us that quality blockchain education, innovation and research opportunities are available to everyone. Therefore, we create certified courses and remove financial barriers for women,” she said.
Earlier, the Binance exchange entered into an agreement with the South Korean city of Busan on the technological and infrastructure support of the urban blockchain ecosystem. As part of the agreement, the Binance Charity Foundation will provide charitable assistance to the city’s universities in training the necessary specialists.
