Changpeng Zhao made it clear that anyone can apply for free education at the online school. Documents on the project's website clarify that it is designed primarily for children who have grown up to the age of approximately 13 years, but have never attended school. Giggle Academy wants to solve a problem that is formulated like this:
“More than 75% of the planet’s 781 million illiterate adults live in South Asia, Western Asia and sub-Saharan Africa. Women make up nearly two-thirds of the world's illiterate adults.”
Training will be conducted in a gaming, gamified format. Giggle Academy students will be able to receive basic education, from grades 1 to 12, free of charge. With the money raised by Zhao, teenagers are going to be taught the basics of reading and writing, language and literature, mathematics, natural sciences, physics, biology, and finance. High school students will have access to art and programming, entrepreneurship and sales, law and accounting, blockchain and artificial intelligence.
“No history or religion. The goal is not to get kids to college, but to help them find better jobs.”
The educational project is non-profit, and Changpeng Zhao clarified that there are no plans to issue a native token for Giggle Academy. A special point system and special badges in the form of NFTs are promised to reward the most successful students.
Earlier, a US federal court imposed additional restrictions on Binance founder Changpeng Zhao, saying he must surrender all his passports and notify law enforcement of his movements.
