The co-founder of the largest crypto exchange Binance, Yi He, called on the head of the social network X (formerly Twitter) Elon Musk to take action against fraudulent accounts due to which users are deprived of crypto assets.

Yi He warned that attackers are increasingly impersonating well-known companies and their executives. Hae has made several accounts public using her photos, name and nickname. Scammers encourage users to click on a malicious link to gain access to Binance-backed memtokens. However, clicking on phishing links can lead to financial losses.

“I have not released any new memecoins. If you click on the suggested links, you will lose money. Hackers have already deceived many people; large sums of crypto assets have been stolen from them. Elon Musk, is there a way to solve this problem?” Yi He wrote.

Recently, analysts from the Scam Sniffer platform found that in May, attackers managed to steal about $42 million from 32,000 victims during phishing attacks. The situation is made worse by confusion surrounding the paid service to verify the new account holder. Anyone with a smartphone can apply for a paid identification service, which can make it difficult to distinguish between real and fake accounts.

Recently, Yi He urged exchange clients to be more careful when switching to various resources and downloading any plugins. He warned that Binance will not compensate for the losses of users who suffered from its own negligence.
