The Nigerian Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, Interpol and the Kenya Police Service are negotiating the extradition of Nadeem Anjarwalla back to Nigeria, according to sources in the Kenyan presidential administration.
Recall that Anjarwalla was able to leave Nigeria on March 22, 2024, by presenting a Kenyan passport on an international flight with a Middle Eastern airline. According to Kenyan officials, they know where the top manager of Binance is currently located.
If extradited back to Nigeria, he and his colleague Tigran Gambaryan will be charged with organizing tax evasion and laundering money through the Binance exchange.
Previously detained in Nigeria since the end of February 2024, Tigran Ghambaryan filed a claim for violation of his rights against Nigeria's National Security Adviser Nuhu Ribad and the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
